The Role: 

We are seeking someone who understands decision sciences and is excited about the impact that the Alliance’s mission can have on the next generation of decision-makers.


The Decision Sciences Partnership Manager will help achieve these goals by engaging with decision sciences (Decision Analysis, Behavioral Economics, Cognitive Psychology, Probability, etc.) professionals and other key stakeholders through various councils. First, this individual will develop and oversee the Workforce Council (recently launched), which engages industry leaders and employers who currently utilize decision sciences in their profession to champion the importance of Decision Education for future employees. Second, this individual will forge partnerships with organizations primarily focused on promoting the utilization of decision sciences (e.g. Society for Judgment and Decision Making (SJDM), Society of Decision Professionals (SDP), The Good Judgment Project) and that are interested in bringing the many learnings of decision sciences into K-12 education. These councils are vital to the Alliance’s efforts to generate awareness and drive demand for Decision Education.


The Decision Sciences Partnership Manager will report to the Director of Community and Partnerships (“CAP”), as part of the growing CAP Department, which is responsible for growing and energizing a network of individual and organizational supporters.


The position can be partially remote initially, but we would strongly prefer that the Decision Sciences Partnership Manager mainly work from the Alliance office in Bala Cynwyd, PA once the organization deems it safe to return to the office. That said, we will consider long-term remote work for exceptional candidates. Occasional travel will be expected once it is deemed safe.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic plans for launching, growing, and engaging with the Workforce Council, decision sciences organizations, and potentially other councils over time
  • Identify, evaluate, recruit, and onboard new Council members and decision science organizations
  • Host Council meetings
  • Manage metrics and establish systems associated with the Council(s) and decision sciences organizations
  • Oversee the initiatives that stem from the strategic plans mentioned above
  • Work collaboratively with Alliance team members
  • Manage the individual relationships with Council members, including all communications and follow-ups
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience 
    • Considerable knowledge of subject areas related to decision sciences (academic qualification in decision sciences/analysis or a related field is preferred, but not required)
    • 2+ years of experience in an advanced management role with program management experience
    • Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
    • Experience recruiting and working closely with external stakeholders
    • Experience working in a dynamic environment
